We have had to take a wide range of environmental issues into consideration when planning this project, including the protection of groundwater reserves, local environment, soil and forest resources, in addition to noise and air pollution. The majority of these environmental projects are designed to prevent or lessen the impact on nature and the environment. Two such examples of these projects are the erection of a game protection fence on both sides of the E6 and game crossings.
Environmental focus is stronger now than at the time the E6 was last expanded. As a result, local projects will endeavour to restore areas surrounding the road into their original state. For example, the Risa River will no longer be diverted into pipes, but will return to its natural course, as the road will form a bridge over the river landscape. Preserving nature and scenery, such as the area surrounding the scenic Andelva Lake, will help enhance the overall motoring experience.
