Tyres and tread design depth

Due to mixture of rubber and design summer tyres are unfit for winter traffic.

Studded Tyres
are not prescribed by Norwegian regulations. However, in special conditions studded tyres can provide improved stopping ability and hold.

Driving wheels
"Combination" design - suitable for driving wheels on winter roads

Recommended tread design depth is minimum 5mm. Truck wheels on trucks with bogie that can be lifted, can have slightly lower tread design depth.
