Since 19 January 2013, driving licences have an administrative validity of 15 years. That is, your licence will be given a validity period of 15 years the next time it is renewed.

If your driving licence was issued before this date and is valid until your 100th birthday, it needs to be renewed. The deadline for renewal depends on what type of licence card you have (green booklet, large pink card or pink card of bank card size).

You can renew your driving licence and driving entitlements (licence categories) at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office (trafikkstasjon) or online on Your Page.
