A number of the systems behind our vehicle services need upgrading, and in this connection you will not be able to use these services. From 1 a.m. on Friday 22 November to 7 a.m. on Monday 25 November it will thus not be possible to submit a Notification of Sale, pay the registration transfer fee or transfer a vehicle registration to a new owner, neither online at vegvesen.no nor by visiting one of our Driver and Vehicle Licensing Offices (trafikkstasjoner).

Our staff at our Driver and Vehicle Licensing Offices and our telephone service will also be unable to access the vehicle systems during this period. It will not be possible to deregister vehicles, have vehicles tested, buy temporary number plates or hand in number plates at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office. Nor will it be possible to take the mandatory roadworthiness test (“EU test”) during the downtime for vehicle services.

Our vehicle information service, and search services, however, will be functioning as normal throughout the period, though some instability may occur.

Remember to confirm Notifications of Sale

All parties need to confirm or reject the Notification of Sale within 10 days. To avoid that the deadline expires while our vehicle services are unavailable, the Notification of Sale should be confirmed before the end of Thursday 21 November, so that it is not deleted.

Closed Driver and Vehicle Licensing Offices

A number of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Offices will be closed during this period. All our vehicle systems will be down, so that our staff at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Offices will be unable to provide vehicle services. Our driving licence services will be available online at vegvesen.no and at some Driver and Vehicle Licensing Offices. Therefore you should check whether your local Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office is open or closed before you go there.

New Autosys

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration regrets that our vehicle systems will be down for such a long time. The reason for this downtime is an extensive modernisation of the Central Register of Motor Vehicles in Norway.
