Submit the Notification of Sale online

As from 29 April you will have to prove your identity when you submit a Notification of Sale.

Use the digital Notification of Sale at vegvesen.no for easy and fast identification through ID-porten (for example using Bank ID or Buypass). Within five minutes the Notification of Sale can be submitted by the seller and confirmed by the buyer.

If you submit the Notification of Sale on paper, it is the seller that is responsible for handing in the Notification of Sale at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office (trafikkstasjon) and must present proof of identity. The buyer will then receive an SMS to confirm the Notification of Sale at Your Page, with identification through ID-porten. Alternatively, the buyer can visit a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office, sign the Notification of Sale and present proof of identity.

Pay the registration transfer fee online

As from 29 April it will no longer be possible to pay the registration transfer fee at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office (trafikkstasjon). It is easy and safe to pay the fee online at vegvesen.no. Once you have paid, you can download and print out a temporary Vehicle Registration Certificate and start using your vehicle right away.

If you are unwilling or unable to pay online, from 29 April it will also be possible to visit a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office to receive payment details (KID/Customer Identification Number, account number, and amount) for payment in a bank/through internet banking. You can also find payment details on Your Page at vegvesen.no. It will then take 2-3 working days before your payment is registered, and you can download or print out a temporary Vehicle Registration Certificate from Your Page.
