The construction work on E18 Vestkorridoren includes a new highway between Lysaker and Ramstadsletta, which will go through Stabekklokket and Høviktunnelen. Furthermore, there will be a new local road to Fornebu, a tunnel to Gjønnes, and new pedestrian and cycle paths. Tunnel work is continuous around the clock (Monday to Saturday), including drilling, injection and blasting.

Construction work to establish Høviktunnelen is divided between two contractors: E102 Fornebukrysset-Strand and E103 Strand-Ramstadsletta. See the illustration below. The striped lines indicate the blasting progress as of May 2025. We blast about 10 meters per week in both east and west directions. Progress depends, among other factors, on ground conditions and rock type.

24-hour construction work on the Høvik Tunnel by Skanska E102 is scheduled to be completed in week 24. This allows for increased activity around Gjønnes tunnel from this point. E102 will take out approximately 340 meters of the Gjønnes tunnel.

Until approximately 70–80 meters of the Gjønnes Tunnel have been excavated, no highly disturbing night work will be carried out. However, some activity must be expected both inside and outside the tunnel cut. From 70-80 meters, the project will start 24-hour activities in the tunnel, which can feel noisy/disturbing. The estimated start-up is week 33.

The finishing phase of the Gjønnes Tunnel is being carried out by OHLA. The finishing phase of the Høvik Tunnel is being carried out by Skanska E103 Strand – Ramstadsletta.

Monitoring devices are installed to ensure vibrations remain below the limits set by a third party. You will feel vibrations during blasting, which might feel uncomfortable and, for some, even frightening. However, they do not harm buildings or people.
