The bold and ambitious E39 project gives rise to unique new research and the establishment of strong professional communities.

Around 50 PhD studies or post-doc projects are in progress. Of these research projects, 31 are fully or partly financed by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA).

Research cooperation involves a number of private companies, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) i Trondheim, the University of Stavanger, the Research Council of Norwaythe Swedish Transport Administrationthe Swedish Research Council, and Chalmers University of Technology in Gøteborg among others.
