We will meet again on 17–18 March in Luleå, Sweden, following last year’s well-received conference.

This year’s theme is “Nordic cooperation in the north – transport infrastructure for competitiveness, preparedness and the green industrial transition.”
The forum will bring together inspiring speakers who will address key issues at European, national and local level, and it will offer strong opportunities for networking.

The Swedish Minister for Infrastructure and Housing, Andreas Carlson and the Norwegian Minister of Transport and Communications, Jon-Ivar Nygård participated as speakers in last years Platform North forum. So did Jarkko Saarimäki, Director-General of the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency, Finland. A full and varied program

Throughout the forum, we will focus on two main questions:

  • From today’s perspective on competitiveness, the green industrial transition and security, what are the most urgent priorities for transport infrastructure?
  • Which issues should Platform North prioritise in the years ahead?

Highlights include a high-level panel discussion on how Nordic cooperation can be further strengthened, as well as sessions focusing on the Arctic, business development, and energy in transport.

The forum also includes a session on transport infrastructure for military mobility and preparedness.

New insights

Since last year’s conference, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by national and regional authorities, politically governed regions, and business representative organisations in the northern parts of the three countries. The MoU strengthens ongoing efforts to further develop cooperation and will be highlighted during the forum.

– We hope to see the same strong interest in the conference this year, and to gain new insights and valuable networking opportunities that will help drive our joint priorities forward, says Helena Eriksson, Chair of the Platform North Steering Committee.

The programme is continuously updated with interesting speakers. You can find the full programme here
