Operator’s licence test for light goods vehicles
You must pass a theory test before you can apply for a national operator’s licence for light goods vehicles. The test can only be taken in Norwegian.
About the operator’s licence test for light goods vehicles
You take the test at a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office, using one of our designated PCs.
The test consists of 35 multiple-choice questions. You must answer at least 30 of the questions correctly to pass. Each question has only one correct answer option.
You have up to 70 minutes to complete the test.
Language
The questions are available in Norwegian Bokmål or Norwegian Nynorsk. You cannot use an interpreter.
You can have the questions and answer options read out aloud to you. For this you should ask for headphones, and select the language Norwegian Bokmål.
Fees
You get the result immediately
You will get the result displayed on the screen immediately after completing the test. You can also ask the test manager for a printout of the result. The printout will show which topics and how many questions you answered correctly.
If you fail the test, the printout may be useful when you prepare to re-sit the test.
The result is retrieved electronically by Transport Permits when you apply for an operator’s licence for light goods vehicles.
Preparing for the test
There is no mandatory training for the operator’s licence test for light goods vehicles. You need to acquire the knowledge necessary to take and pass the test on your own.
