Fees for theory tests, practical driving tests, licences and photos
See what you have to pay to take a theory test or a practical driving test, be issued a driving licence and take a photo for your driving licence.
All fees are applicable from 1 January 2025.
How to pay
At the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office (DVLO) you can pay in one of these ways:
- Using a Norwegian bank card or Mastercard (contactless or with a PIN code)
- Using a mobile phone or smartwatch for contactless payment
- In cash
You cannot pay by Vipps.
In the online facility you can pay by bank cards such as Visa and BankAxess. You can also pay by credit card and Vipps.

Payment of the fee for a practical driving test
You must pay the fee for a practical driving test if you fail to take it or if you cancel later than on the second-last working day before the test. If the deadline for cancellation has expired, the fee for the unattended test may be waived by the NPRA if you submit a medical certificate or documentation of other circumstances that make it reasonable to waive the fee.
