Fees for theory tests, practical driving tests, licences and photos
See what you have to pay to take a theory test or a practical driving test, be issued a driving licence and take a photo for your driving licence.
All fees are applicable from 1 February 2026.
How to pay
Payment online
You can use Visa, Mastercard or Vipps
Payment at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office
- using a Norwegian bank card or Mastercard (contactless or with a PIN code)
- using a mobile phone or smartwatch for contactless payment (e.g. Apply Pay, Google Pay or Vipps)
- in cash
You can only use Vipps to make contactless payment (tap to pay). You cannot use Vipps to send the money or scan a QR code.

If you do not show up for a practical driving test
You must pay the fee for a practical driving test if you fail to take it or if you cancel later than on the second-last working day before the test.
If the deadline for cancellation has expired, the fee for the unattended test may be waived by the NPRA if you submit a medical certificate or documentation of other circumstances that make it reasonable to waive the fee.
