Check someone else’s driving licence
On Your Page, you can check if the person who is borrowing your car has a valid driving licence. You can also check who has looked up your driving license.
As the vehicle owner, you are responsible for ensuring that anyone borrowing your vehicle has a valid driving licence in the correct category.
How to check someone’s driving licence
Log in to Your Page and enter the Norwegian national ID number and surname of the person you wish to look up. It is sufficient to enter the first five letters of the surname. Both companies and private individuals may use the search function.
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration logs all searches, and your search will be visible to the person you are looking up. Search history will be stored for one year and then deleted.
Check who has looked up your driving licence
Log in to Your Page to see who has looked you up. You will receive an SMS from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration the first time this happens.
The following driving licence information is displayed:
- valid licence categories /driving entitlements (not expiry dates)
- restriction to automatic transmission
- codes for driving entitlements
- CPC with expiry date (including expired CPCs)
The facility will not return any information if
- the person you are looking up does not hold a driving licence
- the licence category has expired
- the driving licence has been confiscated or revoked
- a valid driving licence contains restrictions due to medical reasons
- the person no longer uses the Norwegian national ID number or D number you are looking up
- the driving licence was not issued in Norway
- the driving licence has been exchanged abroad
Restrictions and reservations
You can look up a maximum of ten individuals per 24 hours. The facility retrieves valid driving licence categories (entitlements)
Information about confiscation, revocation or restrictions on driving entitlements due to medical conditions is subject to confidentiality and cannot be disclosed. Restrictions due to medical conditions are shown on the driving licence in the form of a code.
You cannot check whether the person who owns the driving licence has an ADR Certificate (dangerous goods) or a CPC for emergency vehicles.
