Book, change or cancel an appointment
You need to book an appointment for theory tests. We also recommend that you book an appointment for renewal or exchange of your driving licence, vehicle registration and collection of number plates. If you do not book an appointment, you may experience some waiting time.
Change or cancel an appointment
You can change or cancel an appointment in our appointment booking service. To do so, you must state a reference number. You received the reference number when you booked your appointment.

You need to book an appointment to take the theory test.
Theory test for special needs candidates
You may apply for an assisted theory test (for special needs candidates) if you have reading or writing difficulties or otherwise have problems answering written questions.
You can authorise the driving school to book a session on your behalf or you can book the session yourself.
Collecting number plates
We recommend booking an appointment to pick up number plates. If you do not book an appointment, you may experience some waiting time.
Handing in number plates
You can hand in number plates at the driver and vehicle licensing office during the opening hours. We do not have a plate slot.
Sending number plates by post
You can send number plates to the licensing office’s postal address. They will then be deregistered from the date when you posted them.

Payment at the driver and vehicle licensing office
You can pay by bank card (debit card) or cash. Credit cards are not accepted.
Proof of identity
Remember to bring valid proof of identity when you visit the driver and vehicle licensing office.
