What do we use the information for?

The NPRA is responsible for operation, management and development of the website. We use the anonymised information from cookies for this. 

We work continuously to improve and develop our website to help you, our users, find and understand the information you are looking for, and accomplish what you came to do. In order to be able to learn how you use our web pages, we use tools for the analysis and measuring of search patterns and user behaviour.

We are using several web analysis tools that can store cookies on your device when you use vegvesen.no. Web pages where we have embedded contents from other, external facilities may, however, store cookies on your device.

Cookies from analysis tools

Amplitude

We use Amplitude for analysis on vegvesen.no.

Amplitude does not collect personal identifiable information, and it anonymises collected data. Amplitude does not track you across websites. All data collected by Amplitude are unique for each installation, and even if Amplitude has been installed on several websiste, it is impossible to track users by sharing data between these websites.

Siteimprove

We use Siteimprove for analysis on the website, for quality assurance of the content, and to ensure the content is in accordance with the guidelines for universal design of ICT.

Hotjar

We use the analysis tool Hotjar to gain insight in how select web pages and digital facilities work. Using Hotjar, we can for example see whether uses see and click links, buttons, menus and form fields, and how far they scroll on the pages.

User IP addresses are anonymised, and content users write in form fields is masked before it is saved.

Hotjar is the data processar and the NPRA the data controller. All information is subject to Hotjar's privacy policy.

Feedback from users

Users may submit feedback directly on certain web pages and in our digital facilities (Your Page). Users can choose to provide written feedback in a text field in answer to "Did you get the help you needed?" and/or select the reply "Yes" or "No". Users are instructed not to enter personal data or other identifiable information. Feedback is stored in the Optimizely publishing platform for 3 months.

Google Analytics

We use the Google Analytics analysis tool at vegvesen.no/trafikk to collect information about how you use our web pages, how you find your way, what you search for and what pages re most frequently. The information cannot be traced back to you.

Google Analytics stores parts of a user’s IP address, but the final eight digits of the address are removed for the sake of data protection. Google thus does not store detailed geographical information about users, only geographical area or municipality.

We also use the tool Google Tag Manager together with Google Analytics. This gives us data about how selected elements on our website work, such as menus and buttons, file downloading or video viewing.

Cookies from external contents

Facebook

Some pages at vegvesen.no contain elements and contents from Facebook, for example from one of our Facebook pages. When you visit a web page containing Facebook elements, Facebook may store cookies on your device.

YouTube

Videos we display at vegvesen.no are in many cases stored in the YouTube video sharing service. When you watch a web page where we have embedded a YouTube video, YouTube may store cookies on your device. YouTube is a Google service and adheres to Google's privacy policy.

Acast

When we share podcasts at vegvesen.no, they may be stored in the Acast podcast service. When you listen to a podcast at vegvesen.no, Acast may store a cookie on your device. This is a functional cookie which remembers your chosen language.

Vimeo

Videos we display at vegvesen.no may be stored in the Vimeo video sharing service. When you watch a web page where we have embedded a Vimeo video, Vimeo may store necessary cookies on your device.
