With a Category D1E driving licence, you can drive a minibus that is approved for up to 16 passengers, with a trailer.

You must be at least 21 years old and hold a driving licence for Category D1 to get a Category D1E licence.

You may be younger than 21 if you are undergoing or have completed mandatory training for a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

If you hold a driving licence for Categories C1 and D1 and you upgrade to include C1E, you will automatically also get a Category D1E licence.

Minibus

You can drive a minibus that is approved for between 9 and 16 passengers. It can be no more than 8 metres long.

Minibus with trailer

You can tow a trailer with a maximum authorised mass of more than 750 kg.

Passenger car with trailer

You can drive a passenger car and tow a trailer with a maximum authorised mass between 750 kg and 3,500 kg. The car can be approved for no more than 8 passengers. In your driving licence, this is marked as Category BE.
