E6: The Raudhammartunnel is now open for normal traffic
The remaining work will continue during nighttime hours.
This means that the tunnel will still be closed from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with traffic being diverted through the tunnel every other hour.
“We acted quickly to deploy resources, and since Friday we have been working intensively to ease the traffic situation. We are pleased to now be able to announce that the road is reopening to normal traffic, except during nighttime” says Oddbjørg Mikkelsen from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
There is still extensive work that needs to be carried out inside the tunnel, but this will be done at night.
