When your driver card is malfunctioning, lost, or stolen, you must submit a loss report and apply for a replacement card.

When your driver card is malfunctioning, lost, or stolen, you must submit a loss report, apply for a replacement card, and visit a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office (trafikkstasjon).

If your driver card is malfunctioning, lost or stolen, you must take printouts from the tachograph at the beginning and end of the day, write your name and driving licence / driver card number on the printouts, and sign them. You can drive using printouts from the tachograph until you have received a new driver card.

See detailed conditions for driving using printouts in Article 35 (2) of Regulation (EU) No 165/2014 (europa.eu)

If your card is lost, stolen or defective, you must fill in the loss notification form ”Report stolen/lost/malfunctioning tachograph card” and the application form for a driver card (replacement card). You must book an appointment and visit a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office within 7 days, where you hand in the completed forms.

If you are unable to present a valid driver card for the above-mentioned reasons, you are allowed to drive without a card for up to 15 calendar days, or longer if required for the purpose of returning the vehicle to its base. You must bring the defective/damaged card while driving until you have handed in the card, and present it along with the printouts upon inspection.

If your driver card was lost or stolen abroad, you must report it lost in the country where it was lost, and visit a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Office (trafikkstasjon) in Norway to order a replacement card when you return.
